Building Information Modeling
Aiding Visualization and Communication
Since 2015, NC Architects has used Revit 3D Design software to help our clients visualize design options and make informed decisions. This powerful design tool offers tangible benefits from the earliest stages of planning, through design development and construction. From building massing and siting options, to furniture placement and material selection, Revit provides the ability to test a variety of options and determine their impact on cost and schedule. As we move into construction, the detailed documents produced using Revit result in fewer contractor Requests for Information, minimizing delays in the field.

Construction Administration further promotes our client’s vision by ensuring design integrity is smoothly transitioned to concrete reality. NC works with our clients and their construction team, conducting weekly site visits to maintain open communication and shared objectives. The progression of shop drawings and other submittals is expedited through an electronic review process, with all submittals reviewed for compliance with design intent. A thorough documentation process captures project progress, tracks cost and schedule, and facilitates change management and issues resolution. This systematic approach provides our clients with the reliable, timely information they need to make sound decisions throughout the construction phase.
Protecting and Conserving
Sustainable Design is an environmentally sensitive approach that explores ways to conserve and protect our natural resources. Many opportunities exist during the design phase that can result in positive benefits for decades to come for the building owner, its occupants, and the environment. NC considers the entire spectrum of sustainable design opportunities from site topography and building orientation, to sun angles and air circulation, to building systems and construction materials. This approach integrates the built environment and the natural environment to produce a facility that is sensitive to its surroundings and efficient to operate.
